Sequential Design - Game Board Redesign

Since I love 17th Century art, I used it as a theme for my game board redesign. The Game of LIFE was my original game concept and I applied art history and some general period facts to the existing game structure. You play as a citizen of 17th century Europe, traveling around looking at the art of the period (in chronological order). As you land next to a piece of art, you get rewarded depending on how it was received by the church and by the public. There are also random tiles that affect your pence count.

Intro to AD - Red Bull

This project for Intro to AD was a lot of fun. My group created a few different versions of this campaign, but our final print ads illustrated that Red Bull brings out the bull in everyone so they can get up and get going. Here's one of my partner's Marina posing for our final shot:

Psychology of Marketing - Diet Pill Ads

For a larger project in my psychology class, we had to create and market a product to our class. We created a diet pill that you take when you eat foods that are bad for you that chemically reduces the cholesterol content of the food as you digest it. To market the product to consumers, I created a small series of guerrilla ads that attach to existing fast food campaigns:

Image + Color - Collage Times Cover

More practice in Photoshop, this time creating a mock cover for Times Magazine. I started with images cut from magazines and created a few different collages based on classic principles of design. Here's my final collage choice, edited in Photoshop a few different ways:

And color versions with two complement and one analogous:

Here's my final cover with title:

Behavior of Business Organizations - Social Norms

This project was pretty great - my group got to go out and defy social norms. We also had to write a paper and present our work to the class, but the fun part was deciding on what norms to break and actually implementing our ideas. Here's a video of our work:

So the norms we focused on were: eating with silverware and all the proper dining accessories at a fast food place, singing instead of speaking, and dressing in layers at the beach.

Intro to AD - LEGO

Here's a quick ambient ad for LEGO, based on elevator doors opening and closing making it look like the kid is playing with his LEGO blocks:

We had really open reign to do what we wanted for this project. The point was to promote creativity in unexpected places and LEGO has some great ads that really push that concept.

Image + Color - Gestalt Architecture

For this project, we took images of buildings and translated them to vectors. The process started with image tracings to mimic light and shadow and help us understand the building's structure.

Next came the initial line vector in Illustrator:

Then black and white vectors, and finally the implementation of gestalt principles:

I took the gestalt images and compiled one final vector:
