This first piece is pastel on suede mat board, about 6" x 8". It was really difficult to work with, but the resulting texture was perfect for the subject. I ended up displaying it in a glass shadowbox so that the pigment wouldn't shift on the surface. The original image was one I remembered from one of my dad's old photography magazines.
I did an internship with a dentist, which helped out with the teeth in this next piece. It's H2 and B graphite on hot-press watercolor paper, about 8" x 10". The image was from memory, no reference.
This portrait of a dog was done for a friend's dad as a Father's day commission. It's acrylic on canvas, and measures about 18" x 24"
This is a sketch in graphite on paper, about 7" x 10".
